Damian is looking for a Senior Parliamentary Assistant to join his team, with a particular focus on constituency work. Flexible working options are possible, to attract the right candidate. Flexibility could include working partly from home or working part-time.

Job Details:
Damian is seeking an empathetic individual with a strong public service ethos to assist him with constituent casework and correspondence and to provide wider support to his office/team.

Detailed job description:

Progress routine casework with minimal supervision
-
Respond to routine correspondence from constituents with minimal supervision
-
Maintain knowledge in policy areas required to reply to frequent topics of policy correspondence and casework issues
-
Open post and distribute to other team members as appropriate
-
Act as primary point of contact for incoming phone calls, referring callers to other team members as appropriate
-
Assist other members of the team with more complex casework or policy correspondence (e.g. by gathering relevant information)
-
Deputise in relation to parliamentary admin in absence of Office Manager/Senior Parliamentary Assistant
-
Undertake research on relevant subjects as directed
-
Prepare briefing notes, for example for constituency meetings and surgery appointments
-
Attend and participate in meetings as appropriate
-
Provide generalist admin support, including the booking of public gallery access, tours and PMQs’ tickets for constituents
